Neuropsychological assessment
Neuropsychological examination is requested by doctors, other health professionals or lawyers to obtain information on the functioning of the brain, and how this relates to mental abilities, emotions, and everyday activities. Typical referrals include traumatic head injury, neurological illness, physical illness ( e.g. metabolic, neurotoxic). There is sometimes a question about the contribution of organic and non-organic (mood, personality) causal factors.

Detail your strengths and weaknesses in thinking skills and mental abilities
Detect underlying problems in brain activity and the potential diagnosis
Identify possible changes in functioning over time
Make recommendations for treatment and/or rehabilitation
Suggest any further investigations that may be needed
